Silicone Oils Whilst damper development has recently seen increasingly large volume shock bodies being introduced by many manufacturers, we believe this is by no means the most effective way of getting the most from your car’s suspension. Selecting the best oil for the job is equally, if not more important! Geared differentials have been the domain of 1/5 and 1/8 scale models for many years, but nowadays in the age of extreme performance brushless motors and LiPo power, they are finding their way into smaller scale cars also. This is a very hostile environment for a differential fluid, and it’s getting even tougher because of this! Even in larger scale models, manufacturers are making diffs smaller and smaller to reduce CG and rotational losses, so it is more important than ever to choose the oil that can cope with such extreme demands. DLD high performance silicone oil not only has a high tolerance to temperature variance, but its rated viscosity is reliably consistent from batch to batch.
